Miranda Lambert Gets Emotional At First Live Concert In Over A Year

Miranda Lambert broke down in tears during her first performance in front of a live audience since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The country music star was overcome with emotion when she began her song “The House That Built Me” at Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth, Texas, on Thursday. It was the first of a three-night run of shows on her mini-residency.

“No matter what I’ve ever done in my career and what I’m still gonna do, somehow I still feel most at home on a barstool under a neon sign,” Lambert says in a video that was captured and shared on social media by one of the fans.

She adds, “I walked in here and I took a little tour around, and I just felt so at home. I remembered why I do this and why I missed y’all’s faces so damn much.”

Lambert had not performed in public since she was forced to cut her Wildcard Tour short last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
