The man who faces arson charges after setting a fire at the Lowe’s Home Improvement store on Colony Street near Panama Drive is 40-year-old Melanio Bacus.

The Bakersfield Fire Department says he set fire to about $800 in merchandise toward the back of the building after 8 p.m. Thursday.
