The married couple who died in a west Bakersfield murder-suicide at a home on De Colores Court has been identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office as 56-year-old Shawn Carroll and 55-year-old Diane Carroll.

Police believe Shawn Carroll shot his wife before turning the gun on himself.

Officers found Shawn Carroll dead in the home’s backyard before 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Diane Carroll died at Kern Medical Center after 8 p.m.
