The man shot by two Bakersfield Police Department officers in Stiern Park has been identified by the coroner’s office as 47-year-old Daniel Hernandez Jr.

Emergency dispatchers were told Hernandez was firing rounds at a car driving along Montor Street on Tuesday.

He was killed moments after police arrived at 6 p.m.
