BAKO ANIMAL CONTROL LOOKING FOR ABUSERS

Bakersfield Animal Control says a dog who was found at the corner of Monitor Street and Pacheco Road in east Bakersfield has severe injuries to his face.

Jackie Cameron, Executive Director of No Kill Kern Dog Rescue, is raising money to help the pup named Chip get reconstructive surgery at UC Davis but says this is the most vicious attack she’s seen on an animal. The Facebook postings of a local eighth grader are being looked at after he seemed to take credit for abusing Chip, but there is not enough evidence to make an arrest.

Animal Control is also investigating the abuse of a pitbull whose paws were crushed the day before but say they do not think one person committed both crimes.
