People in Arvin have asked Kern Community College District trustees to set aside $25 Million in an upcoming bond to build a new Bakersfield College campus in town.

Building Healthy Communities South Kern says they have been working with trustees on this project for five years and want the language to be finalized before a bond is put before voters in November. Supporters also say the new campus would increase educational opportunities for community members by holding more classes in an area where low income people can access them.

Some BC classes already take place at Arvin High.
