LOST HILLS IS MORE AFFORDABLE FOR FARM WORKERS

The first affordable housing development in Lost Hills in two decades is now open to farm workers and their families.

Almond Village features 81 homes and apartments as well as two parks. Housing Authority Director Stephen Pelz says they wanted to build an environmentally-friendly space in one of the most overcrowded cities in California.

Many state, federal, and local agencies helped finance the multi-million dollar construction including the U.S. Department of Agriculture and California Community Reinvestment Corporation. Kern County also contributed $2-Million to the project.
