Arson investigators are trying to figure out what caused a fire at a two-story apartment complex in Oildale. The flames broke out about 12:30 Thursday afternoon at the building on Hughes Lane near Wisteria Street, and Kern County Fire Captain Jim Blue says it took them about an hour to snuff it out. At least one person has been displaced.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire to one top floor unit but at least one bottom apartment has smoke and water damage.
