Firefighter Crews Said to be Desperate for Relief

(Sacramento, CA) — California firefighters are in desperate need of relief crews. Firefighters are working double shifts as they wait for out of state crews to arrive. Officials say they requested 375 fire engines from out of state to join the 69-hundred firefighters currently battling nearly 400 wildfires. Inmate firefighters are also short in supply, as the COVID-19 outbreak prompted officials to release thousands of inmates early.
