A man is dead after getting run over while laying in the drive-through lane of a NorthwestBakersfield fast-food restaurant. It happened Sunday night around 10:30 at the McDonald’s location off Coffee and Hageman Roads. Bakersfield Police say the victim was supposedly a transient who climbed into the drive-through lane and refused to leave. Responding police tried using a jack to lift the vehicle off the victim, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Drugs and alcohol are not thought to be factors.
