A student at Shafter High School was arrested by police Monday afternoon after another student was stabbed in an altercation.

On Monday after school, an incident occurred between two students at Shafter High School. One student suffered a stab wound during an altercation and was transported to the hospital. The other student was taken into police custody. The ongoing investigation has determined it was an isolated situation, and no other students were in danger. Our thoughts go out to the injured student and their family. We are unable to provide further comment at this time to preserve the integrity of the investigation
