Bakersfield Police responded to the Costco on Rosedale Highway regarding a robbery Tuesday.

Two suspects wearing masks entered the store and attempted hide liquor bottles in their backpacks. They were approached by the store’s manager and, according to Bakersfield Police Sgt. Robert Pair, the male suspect retrieved a hammer and struck the employee in the head. Both suspects fled and the victim suffered major injuries.

There is no public suspect information at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact BPD.
