Driver and Passenger Arrested for DUI after Crashing into BPD Patrol Vehicles

A man and woman have both been arrested after striking a Bakersfield Police Department vehicle.

Around 10:53 p.m. Monday night, BPD officers were conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 5800 block of Ming Avenue near Ashe Road. During the enforcement, an unrelated vehicle struck the back of the patrol vehicle. The force of impact caused the BPD vehicle to strike another BPD vehicle. No officers were injured.

A DUI screening was conducted on scene and, according to BPD, the adult female driver was determined to have a Blood-Alcohol Content higher than the legal limit. She was arrested for DUI. The adult male passenger was arrested after police discovered he had a felony warrant for DUI.
