Three Children in Protective Custody after being Reported Missing

Child Protective Services has received three children after they were reported missing from their east Bakersfield home on Monday.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, the children (ages 7, 9, and 11) were reported missing having been last seen 15 hours prior. Deputies arrived on scene and could not locate the kids but there was no indication of them being in danger and it was believed they were with an unknown friend of the family. On Tuesday, the children returned home safely and reported they were at a friend’s residence.

Child Protective Services was notified and begin their own investigation. As a result, the children were placed into protective custody.
