BPD SAYS RACING CAMAROS CAUSE CRASH, 19 YEAR OLD ARRESTED

One person has been arrested and four others hurt following a collision between drivers who were street racing. Bakersfield Police say two Camaros were in an illegal speed contest just before 7:00 Monday night on Old River Road at White Lane, and one vehicle went over the center median. Three adults and a juvenile who were not involved in racing were treated for minor injuries, 19-year-old Meylin Rosi Barrera stayed at the scene and is being charged with reckless driving and child endangerment. The second vehicle is a black Camaro that will have damage to the front end and/or undercarriage.
