HIGH SPEED RAIL HAS OPEN HOUSE IN DOWNTOWN BAKERSFIELD

Dozens of people turned out for a High Speed Rail open house in downtown Bakersfield to get a look at how the project is going and give their input. Planning Director Margaret Cederoff tells 17 News their focus is on the link between Merced and Bakersfield, which will end at Golden State Avenue and F Street.

The goal is to have that span operational by 2030 to 2033. The High Speed Rail will ultimately span San Francisco to LA. Another open house is tonight in Hanford, but people may also comment online.
