BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A Bakersfield woman convicted of felony DUI charges after crashing into a house has been charged with another felony for an earlier DUI arrest.
Prosecutors on Friday chose to refile a separate misdemeanor case involving Madison Williams, 29, who was convicted in December of DUI causing great bodily injury after crashing her Mercedes Benz into a house at Taft Highway and Old River Road in September 2022.
The crash sparked a house fire and left a couple and their 21-month-old child injured.
Williams is serving a year in jail and seven years’ probation for that case.
The conviction created the possibility for Williams to be charged with a felony in her misdemeanor case from June 2022.
Williams is due back in court February 5, 2026.
