BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A doctor’s reports says an elderly Bakersfield man accused of killing his wife has neurocognitive impairment.
A competency hearing for Michael Wildrick, 83, has been set for February 4 after Wildrick allegedly shot and killed his 85-year-old wife Emma in the driveway of their home in the 11000 block of Tulane Park Place in September.
Wildrick claimed he fired only warning shots at his wife after she stabbed him, but no knife injuries were found on his body.
Court documents indicate Wildrick began experiencing cognitive issues — years ago.
