BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — Closing arguments resumed Thursday in the trial of a Bakersfield man accused of killing his 3-week-old son.
Eduardo Gutierrez, 25, faces a murder charge after the boy was found motionless by his mother after being left in Gutierrez’s care while she took a nap in November 2024.
When the woman found the child, Gutierrez allegedly told her, “I made him stop crying.”
The child died a few days later at Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera.
Gutierrez faces life in prison if he’s convicted.
