BUTTONWILLOW, CA (KUZZ) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified a driver killed in a crash at the Buttonwillow Raceway Park.
Carlos Ramirez, Jr., 28, was a member of the park’s Advance Fire and Rescue Services who died at the scene Sunday morning when his vehicle rolled over at the park near Interstate 5 and West Lerdo Highway.
Officials say another crew member was injured when the two team members responded to an incident on the track.
Cal OSHA is investigating.
