BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A 29-year-old man will spend three years in prison for a shooting outside a northwest Bakersfield restaurant.
Billy Burrell learned his fate Tuesday after pleading no contest to charges including assault with a gun. Attempted murder charges were dropped.
Burrell wounded two people during a gang-related fight at El Portal West Mexican Grill and Cantina in the 1100 block of Calloway Drive.
Police say the restaurant is a known hang-out for local street gangs.
