TULARE, CA (KUZZ) — The Tulare County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing evidence in the suspected DUI case involving former Kern County District Attorney Ed Jagels.
Tulare County was assigned the case due to a conflict of interest after the Kern County District Attorney’s office stepped aside.
Bakersfield Police Department officers arrested Jagels on June 1, 2026, after getting reports of a man slumped inside a vehicle near Stockdale Highway and Don Hart East.
Police say Jagels’s blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit.
No charges have been filed.
Lab results are pending.
Jagels is scheduled to appear in court July 28, 2026.
