BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A one-armed motorist who admitted to causing a deadly Bakersfield crash while impaired by marijuana has been sentenced to eight years in prison.
Karim Reyad, 21, learned his fate Thursday after pleading no contest to gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
Prosecutors say Reyad was driving more than 100 miles an hour when his Dodge Challenger slammed into a car driven by Gayla Sue Price, 66, in April 2023.
Price died at the scene. Two passengers in the Dodge were injured.
