BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A 52-year-old man accused of setting multiple fires outside a popular Bakersfield restaurant is facing arson charges.
Pedro Gutierrez was arraigned Monday and ordered held on $50,000 bail. Prosecutors say surveillance video shows Gutierrez intentionally setting seven fires outside Luigi’s Restaurant and Delicatessen on East 19th Street over two separate days.
Gutierrez was arrested last week after a tip led officers to his location.
His next court appearance is scheduled for July 31.
