BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A 17-year-old Bakersfield girl has been identified as the victim of a deadly hit-and-run crash on Union Avenue.
The Kern County Coroner’s Office says Love Icelyn Dixon was struck by a vehicle Saturday night near the 3400 block of Union Avenue.
Police say Dixon was hit as she was stepping out of a parked car. The driver involved fled the scene and remains under investigation.
Authorities say speed does not appear to be a factor in the crash, and it is unclear whether impairment played a role.
