BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — Former Kern County District Attorney Ed Jagels is facing misdemeanor DUI charges following his arrest in June.
Prosecutors filed two counts against the 77-year-old, including allegations that he was driving with a blood-alcohol concentration of at least .15%.
Authorities say Jagels was behind the wheel of a Tesla that was seen swerving and striking a center median on Stockdale Highway.
Jagels is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday.
