BAKERSFIELD, CA (KUZZ) — A man was killed Monday morning after being struck by several vehicles on the 24th Street bridge over the Kern River in central Bakersfield.
The Bakersfield Police Department says the crash happened around 5:30 a.m. near Oak Street. Several of the vehicles involved left the scene without stopping.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Westbound lanes of 24th Street were closed for several hours while police investigated.
Authorities have not released the victim’s name or said what led to the crash.
